This singing brotherhood specializes in preserving and expanding this traditional, American art form. Since 1938, when the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA) was founded, the style first spread throughout North America, and now reaches throughout the world. The Barbershop Harmony Society's motto is: KEEP THE WHOLE WORLD SINGING
